Netgear WNDR3700 Review

Router Rating:

6.02

considered as Best of Netgear routers , the WNDR3700 can Handle all your Networking Needs , delivering Decent Performance and fast throughput speed with lot of networking Features , in other word , the router do what it is supposed to do !

PROS:

  • 802.11n Draft 2.0 : Wireless-N is the latest technology built for faster transfer speeds with less interference and greater range.
  • Dual-Band : Netgear WNDR3700 can work on two wireless frequencies simultaneously : 2.4 and 5Ghz . with a such feature , you can operate 2 wireless networks in the same time with separate ssids , the most common example is using the 2.4 GHz for Internet surfing, emailing and downloading while streaming media through your home and online gaming on the 5Ghz frequency .
  • Wi-Fi Protected Setup button(WPS) : Push 'N' Connect using Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) allows you to add computers to the network quickly and securely
  • Ultimate Performance: Netgeat WNDR 3700 is one of the most reliable routers in the market by offering excellent and stable throughput speed with extended wireless coverage.
also,i didn't faced any interference problem working with the two frequency (2.4 and 5 Ghz)simultaneously which is a common problem with dual band routers
  • USB Sharing Port: the router is Optimized in matter of sharing device content such as external hard drive with all compatible devices in your home.
unlike Belkin n+ router,Netgeat WNDR3700 can handle Popular NTFS file system (FAT32 support also) for faster and easier access to an external USB storage(with ReadyShare application),
however, Writing data to NAS(which is the external USB device) can be somewhat slow for larger files.
  • NetGear WNDR3700 is equipped with Four Gigabyte Ethernet ports
  • Nice Design And Easy Install: Netgear WNDR3700 is sleek Wall-Mountable router designed to work in both horizontal and vertical positions.
unlike many routers, you will not be bothered by router Led Lights and Antennas,
WNDR3700 has an internal antennas design.
the router Setup is easy with Smart Wizard CD which will guide you Step-By-Step through setup process and router configuration .

CONS:

  • The 5Ghz connection is not as strong as the 2.4Ghz , it drops drastically keeping away from the router.

Very good router. Owned it for about 2 years has never dropped. Very good signal strengh will cover a whole house if you have it some what in the center of the house. Sure beats the Linksys crap.

Save your money. The wireless N has a very limited useful range (i.e. in the same room). Once you venture outside of about a 10 ft radius, the N drops the connection quite frequently. To the point where it is unusable. I bought this because of the dual radios, and now I find myself using only the wireless G. I could have saved $100 and bought a unit with only one radio. Don't make the same mistake.

Best router i have bought
Excellent range and speed with 2.4 and 5 GHz , i'm using the router with more than five laptops connected with no issue so far , i enjoyed also the full dd-wrt support .
the only cons I see is the web interface which look so primitive .
