Linksys WRT54G2 Wireless-G Broadband Router is a simple router uses the G standard for wireless connection , the max speed of IEEE 802.11g is 54Mbps(theoretical) which is much less than the IEEE 802.11N (300Mbps).
if you uses a wired connection for Internet Access , then this router is a good choice ,otherwise, I recommend buying a wireless N router with Almost the same price like the D-Link Dir-615 or Linksys WRT120N.

PROS:

  • High security( compared to other wireless G routers): Linksys WRT54G2 router is equipped with the latest security technologies : WPA2(Wi-Fi Protected Access 2),MAC address filtering, and a powerful spi Firewall
  • DD-WRT support: DD-WRT is a Linux based alternative OpenSource firmware provide the easiest possible handling while at the same time supporting a great number of functionalities within the framework of the respective hardware platform used.
  • Wi-Fi Protected Setup(WPS)
  • Nice Design and Ease of use

CONS:

  • Lack of IEEE 802.11n standard
  • No USB ports
  • No Gigabit ethernet ports
