if you want a wireless router that can work on the two radio band 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz simultaneously , the Linksys WRT400N can do this effectively .
except the lack of USB port and Gigabit Ethernet ports , the router include the same features as the Linksys WRT610N that costs 20$ more than Linksys WRT400N ,
so if you use a wired connection or you want an USB port for connecting a storage device and share its content over the network , i recommend to check the Linksys WRT610N , otherwise , Linksys WRT400N seems to be a great choice .
PROS:
- Draft 802.11n : Linksys WRT400N is compatible with 802.11n Draft standard which uses MIMO(Multiple Input, Multiple Output) offers significant increases in data throughput and link range without additional bandwidth or transmit power
- Simultaneous Dual Band : dual band technology in the Linksys WRT400N supports 2.4GHz & 5GHz wireless signals at the same time . This allow you to Web browsing using the 2.4GHz band while simultaneously streaming High-Definition (HD) movies and Online gaming on the 5GHz band , Note that you have greater speed and less ping when using The 5Ghz band but also the signal strength is less than the 2.4Ghz frequency
- Advanced content Filtering system which allow you to filter Internet access for certain computer like blocking some websites and more other options
- Wi-Fi Protected Setup(WPS) let you connect to the network without entering the SSID or the password , you can do this by simply pushing a button
- Great Design and ease Of install
CONS:
- A bit expensive
- No USB port
- No Gigabit Ethernet speed
