D-Link DIR-825 Review
Router Rating:
D-Link DIR-825 is an upgrade to D-Link DIR 655 with similar design , more Features and better performance . you can get it for a considerable price ( about 130$),inexpensive for a simultaneous Dual Band router. D-Link DIR-825 is optimized for online Gaming and Streaming movies
PROS:
- 802.11n Draft 2.0 router : like most routers we reviewed , D-Link DIR-825 is compatible with 802.11n Draft standard wich uses MIMO(Multiple Input, Multiple Output) offers significant increases in data throughput and link range without additional bandwidth or transmit power
- Simultaneous Dual Band : The dual band technology in the DIR-825 supports 2.4GHz & 5GHz wireless signals at the same time . This allows you to check e-mail and surf the web using the 2.4GHz band while simultaneously streaming High-Definition (HD) movies and Play online with your game console on the 5GHz band , Note that you have greater speed and less ping when using The 5Ghz band (look at Throughput Tests ) , this can help a lot online gamers
- Intelligent QoS : With the D-link DIR-825 Intelligent QoS Prioritization Technology, wired and wireless traffic are analyzed and separated into multiple data streams. These streams are then categorized by sensitivity to delay, so applications like VoIP, Video Streaming, and Online Gaming are given priority over Web browsing. This enables multiple applications like Streaming Video and Gaming to stream smoothly to your TV or PC.
- SharePort technology : this feature allow you to connect any USB device like external hard drive , printer , storage ... on the router USB port and share all information over the network .unfortunately ,it only allows one client at a time share. So , if one person is using the USB port, others won't have access to it.
- Gigabit Network Connection
CONS:
- Need to upgrade firmware regularly
- Only one client can access to USB port at the same time

User Reviews
Won't work with SIP voip
A word of warning, it seems to have a sip voip bug in it that firmware won't address. Just drops the traffic. So if you plan to pass voip through it and its sip then this isn't for you.
Nice router with many
Nice router with many features , I can now connect my Xbox and computer on different bands Simultaneously , I have also low ping when playing online .
The reason why i didn't gave it 5/5 is that you can't share USB Port with other users connected on network , one user only can use the USB drive at a time
