if you don't need a media server for streaming music,video... to all UPNP compatible adapters in your home (Linksys e3000 can do this effectively with its USB port ) ,then the linksys e2000 seems to be a great choice for upgrading your WI-FI system,it offer lot a features , decent performance and certainly worth its price.

User Reviews

I "upgraded" my router from

I "upgraded" my router from an older model to the E2000, having been told by the customer support person that it would show dramatically different (better) speeds and only required minutes to set up.

Two weeks later, I have spent six hours on the phone--seemingly to no avail. Multiple attempts to resolve my connectivity issues (recurring after "successful" setup) have included numerous disconnects, being hung up on by tech support people, rude "customer support" staff people, lies, lies, and more lies... forfait mobile - forfait sans engagement

um, yeah

Anonymous is an idiot. That's what u get for buying a refurbished unit. Refurbished means that it was broken once before. It probably didn't have any kind of manufacturer warranty, did it? Like i said...ur an idiot. Don't be such as cheap ass and buy new next time if it's such an inconvenience for u.

I have returned a Linksys E2000 (refurbished unit) as it was defective right out of the box. I had to pay 9.00 to ship this item back to Cisco. I am amazed with the fact that a company that designs software and hardware technological devices would sell a defective product and think that is ok. This router had a loose connection in the ac adapter/power cord as it would shut off or lose the power connection with even the slightest movement of the router. It also would not put a signal up. I reset the router and modem several times, unistalled and reinstalled the software multiple times, followed all of the troubleshooting procedures and simply could not get a signal from the router. It came in briefly a couple of times but I could not connect and it would disappear.

I went to Wal-Mart and bought a 49.00 Belkin 450DB and it connected instantly and has a full signal throughout my house and has not dropped the connection a single time. I am amazed that Cisco does not stand behind their product. With a refurbished unit, clearly someone had to work on it and you would think they test these units prior to reselling them....maybe not. The problems with this router were so easily detected an elementary student could have figured it out. I would think that Cisco would stand behind their product more and reimburse the purchase price plus shipping. I am now out almost 25% of the cost of the product (as the shipping was almost 25% and Cisco will not reimburse me the s/h). I have nothing to show for it. Why would anyone order anything from this company online if this is the type of customer care they receive? I have learned my lesson. If I prevent even one person from being scammed with an overpriced paperweight, I have earned my S/H fees back...DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT (or anything from this company). They don't care if it doesn't work!

Excellent and User-friendly

I can't think of an easier installation that I have found with Linksys E2000. I am having a FTTH connection, and am getting the exact rated speed as I used to have when the router was not in place. Adding devices, and using guest network is very convenient. I would gladly recommend this to my friends.

bought this product as an upgrade from my old 54g. Result = much, much slower. My wired and wireless connections were slower.

Modem to computer connection = 18 Mbps
WRT54G hard wired to computer = 18 Mbps
E2000 hard wired to computer = 4 Mbps

I have contacted support (dont get me started on their poor service) and changed a few settings to their likings and had no change in performance.

I will be using a differant brand....DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!

very very hard to set up. wifi only works in part of my house and i cant evan find the password never buy this

Avoid this company at all costs

Never have I been more frustrated with customer service or a product.

I have ordered a replacement unit and was told that I would--at my own expense--have to ship the unit I just received back to the company. I complained vigorously and finally got an authorization to have that expense covered by the company.

What a royal pain this experience has been.

And the E2000 seemingly has a much smaller range than my old router.

Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience.

Perhaps somebody at Cisco will contact me and other customers and attempt to rectify our collective situations?

linksys 200

first router everyone (friends) said how simple they are to set up. Couldn't get the thing going went to online support which is scripted this took about 45 mins no luck. That person gave me a 800# which I called. First person would not listen talked over me the whole time then disconnted and I was not rude. Called back got another "tech" ran the rig a ma roll and got disconnected again ( I think they get frustrated) and gave up after 2hrs approx. The next day I called my provider IN THE USA and they told me what to tell linksys..this fine person after listening to me ran me through setup and other things and got the router working...I would not buy from this company again the service is beyound lousy and as far as routers I still don't know how to set up security or much else.

This router may be ok, if I could get it setup. I contacted support and it is the worst I have ever seen. I am technically minded, but they struggle with basic problem solving skills and communication. I am taking it back and getting a different brand. I have used other routers with no problem. This may be a good router once you get it setup and are able to connect to it. But, in my opinion, support is a reflection of the quality of your products.

I'm not very technical when it comes to wiring up house gadgets but I did figure this one out fairly easy. I do say it's a little frustrating when trying to change your password and agree with the other guy who posted customer services sucks. But over all I have two laptops and a hd t.v I stream movies on and knock on wood it works pretty good.

Worst Router Ever E2000

I bought this E2000 thinking it will work good
The results, loose connection with my devices, no internet connection, Super Slow "really a 300mbs" my old 54g works better.
customer support awful teach them English first.
bad bad, not recommended, for your own good.

1 day of use and then in the garbage

Upgrade my 2006 Dlink super g mimo router to this E2000 using the n standard.

Extensive research showd okay to a good unit. Found it on sale I use over 8 different devices through the router.

Install was mixed, I don't prefer auto installs as I would prefer full control and setting it up.

Could not view all my devices connected to router unlike my old D-link. Extremely important for me! Need to see connected devices to trouble shoot at times and found this a big issue preventing me to use this.

Actually saw a drop in speed over the my old D-link, not sure if it was my test/install location but, it only 0.5mps where my dlink get 1.5mps.

linksys e2000

Pros: Very easy to set up, all the features you need, supports dd-wrt 3rd part firmware, great range. The list goes on.

Cons: Not really, haven't had any problems with any features, as with most linksys products I've had, I'd expect it to live long. However, I won't be using their firmware, the 3rd part support is better and more functional (not for those who aren't tech savvy, that is).

linksys e2000 review

I am a network administrator and I purchased this for my home.  After setting it up, I couldn't get some basic networking and file sharing features working.  After spending a bunch of time trying to figure it out, I call the support and simply wasted my time being transferred and waiting on hold.  I spent a total of 2 hours on the phone with them and accomplished nothing.  I then gave up on them and went on to find that there is a bug with the firmware that prevented reliable home networking.  I'll spare you the additional details, but I highly do not recommend this router and seriously question buying any Linksys products after my poor experience with their support.

Pros: linksys e2000 is Easy

Pros: linksys e2000 is Easy to install,Price (i bought the router for 79$)
Cons: Can't operate 2.4Ghz & 5GHz bands simultaneously
Bottom Line: I Have easily been able to achieve very nearly the speed of a wired connection with my wireless connection with this linksys e2000(after optimizing setting)

My linksys e2000

My linksys e2000 review
Pros:Very Quick Set-Up , Great performance
Cons:it doesn't support DD-WRT
Bottom Line: I recommend this router for every one who is newbie in Networking domain , it will not bother you
