Belkin N+ doesn't like one of my Androids, and more.
I had used a Belkin N+ as my primary router. While it was okay as a router and AP, it does have some major shortcomings as far as I'm concerned. I replaced eventually with a Linksys E3000, with a TomatoUSB build.
First, my two Androids do work with it, but, if the Wireless-N band is enabled, my HTC Droid Eris will not authenticate. Moreover, it won't connect with no security at all. My Moto Droid doesn't have a problem with the Belkin's N band. This is a known problem with the HTC Eris, and evidently the Belkin is one of the problematic wireless devices. Since need the N band, I had to move the Belkin to a subsidiary role.
My second beef with the Belkin is its logging. Not a good setup and I just hate to have to web into a device to cut and paste a log.
My third beef with the Belkin is the QOS setup. My RoadRunner broadband seems to be about 40 percent slower talking to the Belkin as opposed to my E3000 on TomatoUSB.
Belkin N+
Piece of junk. Have been on the phone several times (hours at a time) with Belkin setting it up. Six months later, it crapped out again, before they acknowledge the problem is with the router. Has never correctly link up with my ROKU.
