Why do I need a Router ?
without a router , we can only connect one computer to Internet through the modem ,
a router is basically used to share a connection between multiple computers ( or other devices).
nowadays, most routers are equipped with a built-in modem which mean they will connect to Internet and share this connection between multiple computers .
a wired router share the connection through the Ethernet cables ,a wireless router offer the possibility to do that it without cables, all you need is a device equipped with a Wi-Fi adapter to transmit and capture the wireless signal.
